Capricorn Coast Region to Feature in Queensland Dinosaur Week 2026
Following a very successful familiarisation tour, Capricorn Enterprise was invited to participate in the inaugural Queensland Dinosaur Week, a statewide celebration of Queensland’s remarkable dinosaur and fossil heritage taking place 4–10 May 2026, supported by Tourism and Events Queensland. The campaign will highlight the region’s prehistoric and discovery-led experiences and a key feature will be the promotion of Dig the Tropics, encouraging visitors to explore the Capricorn region through curated self-drive itineraries that connect fossil discoveries, landscapes, and attractions.
New Accessible Walkway Officially Opened at Capricorn Caves
Capricorn Caves officially opened Stage One of its new Accessible Walkway this week, celebrating the milestone with invited guests who gathered at the site on Tuesday afternoon. The new walkway marks a significant step forward in making the iconic natural attraction more inclusive, improving access to the caves’ remarkable geological and cultural features for visitors who use mobility aids or have other accessibility needs.
Capricorn Coast and Reef Distillers showcased on a national stage
The Capricorn Coast Region was proudly represented in South Australia’s iconic Barossa region, with Reef Distillers attending Tourism Australia’s inaugural “The Gathering” G’Day Media Program—an immersive celebration of the country’s finest producers, chefs and storytellers.
Ancient species, new generation: new life emerges at Koorana Crocodile Farm
The newest residents of the Capricorn Coast are beginning to emerge, with freshly hatched saltwater crocodiles now arriving at Koorana Crocodile Farm. Visitors to the working crocodile farm can experience the excitement of hatchling season and even hold a juvenile crocodile as part of the farm’s guided tour experience.

Council Commits to Planning for a Future Civic Precinct for Yeppoon
Livingstone Shire (Capricorn Coast) Council yesterday endorsed a report confirming its commitment to explore the long-term opportunity to develop a new library, community and civic centre as part of future strategic planning for Council-owned land within the Yeppoon town centre.
